The Sixth Annual “Round About 5k” fun run/walk was hosted by Deer Park Physical Therapy & Fitness Center on Sunday, September 18. This fun run/walk event benefits the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society whose mission is to “Cure Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and Myeloma. New effective therapies, once unimaginable, are saving the lives of blood cancer patients today, not someday”………..And each runner, walker, volunteer and sponsor is a part of saving lives through finding a cure.
In addition, there was an opportunity to register as a Bone Marrow Donor with the Jada Bascom Foundation. Chamokane Creek Trading Company, Deer Park Vision Source, and Deer Park Physical Therapy had “gift” items for all.
Our participants ranged from 2 ½-70+ years of age and our volunteers from 9 months-70+ years of age. The first three overall male runners to cross the finish line were: Yago Paramo, Zachery Denker, & Donald Driscoll. The first three female runners to cross the finish line were: Melissa Taylor, Barbara Earl & Kay Reynolds. Go to www.roundabout5k.com for photos and more information.
