    Hearts for Dollars for Scholars Fundraiser "Hearts for Scholarships" fundraiser will be at local businesses during February. Donations collected during the campaign fund the annual Hearts Fund scholarship for Deer Park School District graduates. Last year this campaign provided funds to award three local students scholarships totaling $1,250. Every dollar raised in Deer Park stays in Deer Park!

Our chapter is run by community volunteers, we raise scholarship funds to assist local students to reach for and achieve their educational goals. In 2018, Deer Park Dollars for Scholars awarded 17 scholarships totaling $7,475 to 15 seniors. This year we want to increase how many students we help. Thank You.

  • GirlCon Northwest

    GirlCon Northwest is for girls grades 6-12, The event is intended to emphasize mentoring and leadership skills.  The goal is to highlight, elevate, and empower girls in our community.  Following the opening ceremony and keynote speaker, there will be two breakout sessions focused on STEM, Entrepreneur/Financial, Outdoor/Environmental, Social (including life skills, mental health, social media, and inclusivity). 

     
    Registration is free to girls. Adults who want to attend the entire day can do so for $45. Or, if adults want only to attend the dinner they can do so for $35. Girls who attend will receive a GirlCon tote bag filled with fun, useful swag. One girl from each table will win a GirlCon Care Package filled with everything a girl needs such as gift cards to Apple store and/or other tech, healthy study snacks, makeup samples, additional gift cards, notepads, pens, etc.

    Event organizers are looking for sponsors and donors to help funding the event in general and the GirlCon care package and tote bags that will be given to all girls attending.

    The Deer Park School Board is comprised of five directors elected by Deer Park voters – each to a four year term. Four of the five directors in Deer Park represent a “director district,” while one member of the Deer Park Board is elected “at large” (that is, the seat is not tied to a Director District).

    All business of the School Board is conducted in open public meetings except for matters involving property or personnel issues. Simply stated, it is not the job of the Board to manage schools, but rather to oversee that schools are managed well.
