At the April Chamber luncheon our speakers, Travis Hanson and Ed Broberg, gave attendees useful information on some great software/apps to help businesses be more productive. The program began with Ed giving a short demonstration of Canva, an online design tool businesses can use to reach out to potential customers with professionally looking advertising they can develop themselves. For those owners who lack the time, skill or confidence to take on the task themselves, Travis talked about Freelancer, a website where businesses can contract with professional designers to create high quality advertising. In the final portion of the program, Travis provided the group with helpful information on websites, such as 1Password, Dashlane and Lastpass, that help business and individuals manage their many online account passwords and keep them secure.
During the general information portion of the luncheon, attendees heard from Christy Crandall of the Deer Park branch of Washington Trust Bank. Ms. Crandall alerted members that Deer Park is experiencing a problem with counterfeit money being circulated around the community. Business owners and individuals are encouraged to review counterfeit-warning on how to spot fake bills. Ms Crandall concluded by saying that If someone has a question about counterfeit bills, feel free to stop by Washington Trust Bank for assistance. Below are photos of examples of counterfeit currency. Businesses are encouraged to remain vigilant.
